EPAM is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and AWS.
The role focuses on crafting scalable Java web services with strong security and cloud foundations.
The engineer will work with front-end and cross-functional partners, implement RESTful APIs, and improve service performance and resilience.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web services using Java.
- Integrate web services with web applications alongside front-end developers.
- Deliver RESTful APIs for client-server communication.
- Apply engineering standards to ensure services are robust, reliable, and secure.
- Optimize scalability and performance through caching, load balancing, and database optimization.
- Partner with product managers, architects, and QA engineers on software delivery.
- Contribute to code reviews and uphold coding standards.
- Keep current with Java and web service developments.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of IT experience with at least 6 years of strong Java proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of web services and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with Spring Boot for building and deploying web services.
- Expertise with Spring Security and JWT for authentication and authorization.
- Familiarity with SQL, stored procedures, Hibernate, and ORM frameworks.
- Proficiency with Linux commands for development and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of web security principles and best practices.
- Experience with Git and ADO version control systems.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level, B2 or above.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Angular and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile development methodologies.
- Certification in Java programming or related technologies is desirable.
