Senior Application Transition Manager

Role overview

Core responsibilities

• Design transition solutions for complex multi-vendor, multi-geography, multi-stack, and multi-service environments.
• Define transition strategy, milestone frameworks, resource models, and success KPIs for RFP, RFI, SOW, and contract activities.
• Present transition approaches to senior client stakeholders and C-suite audiences.
• Lead transitions involving 100 or more applications and portfolios of 200 or more FTEs.
• Manage knowledge acquisition, shadow, reverse shadow, parallel run, stabilization, hypercare, and BAU handover phases.
• Oversee codebase discovery, dependency mapping, technical-debt assessment, and environment cataloging.
• Deliver SOPs, runbooks, application passports, ADRs, RACI matrices, and operational documentation.
• Manage governance forums, RAID reviews, milestone checkpoints, executive reporting, and transition dashboards.
• Define go-live readiness criteria and lead post-go-live hypercare operations.
• Ensure ITSM, observability, CMDB, alerting, AIOps, and SLA prediction readiness.

AI and technology capabilities

• Use GenAI for knowledge extraction, documentation generation, codebase discovery, and transition solutioning.
• Deploy tools such as GitHub Copilot, CodeScene, and SonarQube AI for code analysis and documentation.
• Apply AI-based dependency mapping, project analytics, NLP reporting, and ML-based SLA prediction.
• Relevant environments include application development, support, data platforms, ERP, CRM, cloud, infrastructure, security, and automation.
• Required tooling readiness includes ServiceNow, Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, CMDB, and alerting configuration.

Required qualifications

• 12–18 years of IT industry experience with significant enterprise application transition leadership.
• At least 8 years of hands-on application development portfolio transitions in managed services or IT outsourcing.
• Experience managing 200 or more FTEs and 100 or more applications across multi-geography delivery models.
• Hands-on exposure to AI tools and automation across the transition lifecycle.
• Experience with Agile, SAFe, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
• Ability to manage 50 or more active stakeholders across multiple geographies.
• Strong pre-sales experience with RFP/RFI responses, SOW development, contract reviews, and oral presentations.
• Exposure to application development, application support, data and analytics, and integration transitions.

Preferred qualifications

• DevOps and CI/CD migration or management skills are preferred.
• AIOps and observability proficiency are preferred.
• GenAI development tooling, prompt engineering, and AI-driven code analysis experience are preferred.
• Cloud transition experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
• Relevant AI, project management, ITIL, SAFe, cloud, or GitHub Copilot certifications are preferred.
