Role Overview
EPAM is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and AWS cloud foundations.
The role focuses on scalable Java web services, secure RESTful APIs, performance, resilience, and collaboration with front-end and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable, high-performance Java web services.
- Integrate web services with web applications alongside front-end developers.
- Deliver RESTful APIs for client-server communication.
- Apply standards and best practices for robust, reliable, and secure services.
- Optimize scalability and performance using caching, load balancing, and database optimization.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and QA engineers.
- Participate in code reviews and keep current with Java and web services trends.
Required Qualifications
- 6–8 years of IT experience with at least 6 years of strong Java proficiency.
- Strong web services and RESTful API development knowledge.
- Spring Boot experience for building and deploying web services.
- Spring Security, JWT, web security, SQL, stored procedures, Hibernate, and ORM experience.
- Linux troubleshooting proficiency and experience with Git and ADO.
- Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to leverage Swing, AWT, JavaFX, and Java desktop applications.
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency at B2 level or above.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Angular and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Agile development, or relevant Java certifications.
