EPAM is building a team around a Senior Software Engineer, Java Cloud role.
The position focuses on secure, scalable Java web services, RESTful APIs, reliability, and performance in a cloud-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and maintain scalable Java web services.
- Partner with front-end developers to integrate web services with web applications.
- Build RESTful APIs for client-server communication.
- Apply practices that keep services reliable, resilient, and secure.
- Tune services using caching, load balancing, and database optimization.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and QA engineers.
- Review code and ensure alignment with coding standards.
- Keep current with Java and web services technologies.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional IT experience with at least 5 years of strong Java proficiency.
- Strong knowledge of web services and RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot for building and deploying web services.
- Experience with Spring Security and JWT authentication and authorization.
- Experience with SQL, stored procedures, and Hibernate.
- Working ability with Linux commands.
- Understanding of web security concepts and best practices.
- Experience with Git and ADO version control systems.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to Swing, AWT, JavaFX, and Java desktop applications.
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Angular.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Background in Agile development methodologies.
- Certification in Java programming or related technologies.
