About the Role

- Work closely with architects, software engineers and product owners to translate complex functional and non functional requirements
- Own a concise test strategy for your initiative, covering functional, automation, non functional and environment/data needs
- Prioritise testing by business impact and operational risk
- Build, maintain and adapt automation frameworks and harnesses, integrated into CI/CD
- Push for production like environments and realistic test data
- Hold vendor delivered solutions to defined entry/exit and acceptance criteria
- Feed production incidents back into test design and regression
- Liaise with other release train teams to manage testing of cross dependencies
Requirements
- 3 years in an Information Technology Degree or Honours or equivalent in relevant field (Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering)
- 6+ years in quality engineering, including recent experience assuring operationally critical or 24/7 systems
- Experience as a Software Quality Engineering lead or equivalent, looking after multiple products or end to end initiative
- Extensive hands on experience developing UI and API automation frameworks, proficient in at least two languages (Java, Python, JavaScript)
- Practical experience with automation tooling (Selenium/WebDriver, Cucumber/Gherkin, JUnit/TestNG) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
- Demonstrable non functional testing depth (performance, resilience, failover/recovery, observability)
- Strong expertise in risk based, context driven and exploratory testing
- Experience delivering within a SAFe / Agile Release Train or equivalent PI cadenced model
- Experience assuring vendor delivered solutions against measurable acceptance criteria

Job Purpose
