Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical implementation from pre-deployment architecture planning and capacity assessment through production cutover and migration validation.
- Design highly available and scalable database architectures aligned with customer business requirements and technical standards in on-premises or cloud environments.
- Work with customer engineering teams to optimize database performance and provide a smooth, responsive end-user experience.
- Develop and deliver customized technical workshops, whitepapers, and operational best practices for customer DBA and engineering teams.
- Lead production incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews while advocating for customer needs with engineering and product teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- At least 5 years of experience in database administration, backend engineering, or infrastructure consulting.
- Advanced SQL expertise and deep understanding of query optimizers and storage engine internals.
- Strong Linux systems engineering background with performance profiling across CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network resources.
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud database architectures across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills for technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to translate complex distributed-systems concepts into clear business value.
- Calm and methodical problem-solving skills during high-pressure production outages.
- Proficiency in producing professional technical assessment reports and project deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering distributed systems such as TiDB, CockroachDB, Spanner, MongoDB, or Cassandra into enterprise production environments.
- Hands-on experience migrating large-scale workloads from Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server to distributed databases.
- Active contribution to open-source database communities.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes and cloud-native database management using Helm and Operators.
