Role Overview
The Senior Officer - Procurement (Indirect) manages end-to-end procurement of indirect goods and services.
The role ensures purchasing is efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with organizational policies and procurement regulations.
The position reports to the Category Manager and supports business operations through procurement processing, supplier transactions, purchase orders, and the annual procurement plan.
The role supports timely availability of goods and services, accurate records, procurement insights, and continuous improvement within Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
- Manage indirect procurement activities in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review, validate, and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Coordinate suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, service quality, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor procurement transactions, purchase orders, supplier performance, and contract execution.
- Resolve delivery delays, order discrepancies, damaged goods, and supplier performance concerns.
- Support procurement and sourcing plans using spend data, demand forecasts, and market intelligence.
- Identify cost optimization, process improvement, and value creation opportunities.
- Prepare reports on procurement performance, budget utilization, savings, and value delivered.
- Maintain governance standards, internal controls, audit requirements, and procurement documentation.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Build cross-functional relationships and provide procurement guidance to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, management, or a related field.
- Professional procurement certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or CPP are advantageous.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related functions.
- Experience managing indirect procurement categories in a large corporate or healthcare environment is preferred.
- Experience with procurement systems, purchase order management, and supplier coordination.
