Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer (Doha, QA)

Job purpose

Key job accountabilities

• Execute process safety, loss prevention, and risk management objectives and programs for assigned assets.
• Review engineering documentation, project deliverables, and interface documents for compliance with relevant standards.
• Facilitate HAZID and risk assessment studies and prepare related reports.
• Facilitate implementation of loss prevention engineering procedures.
• Conduct and support QRA, HAZOP, SIL baseline or revalidation, and other major safety studies.
• Coordinate external consultants and relevant functional groups to complete required study documentation.
• Coordinate Safety Case and Barrier Management efforts to maintain effective safety barriers.
• Review Management of Change requests to maintain plant, field, and process safety integrity.
• Monitor process safety performance indicators, identify trends, and support corrective actions.
• Support the Manage Operations Risk and Ensure Process Safety processes across assigned assets.
• Represent Process Safety and Risk Engineering in project safety studies, including HAZOP, HAZID, 3D model, SIL, and QRA reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required, preferably in chemical, mechanical, or safety engineering.
• Eight years of oil and gas sector experience is required in process safety, loss prevention, risk management, and technical safety.
• Experience in process safety and risk assessment or studies is required.
• Ability to lead HAZID reviews using recognized techniques such as HAZOP and What-If analysis is required.
• Understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques is required.
• Practical knowledge of safe systems of work and emergency preparedness is required.
