Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer

Job Purpose

Key Job Accountabilities I

• Execute company process safety, loss prevention, and risk management objectives and programs in assigned assets.
• Review engineering documentation, project deliverables, and interface documents against relevant standards.
• Facilitate HAZID and risk assessment studies and prepare reports.
• Facilitate loss prevention engineering procedures in assigned assets.
• Conduct and support QRA, HAZOP, SIL baseline or revalidation, and other major safety studies.
• Coordinate consultants, assets, and functional groups to complete studies and produce quality documents.

Key Job Accountabilities II

• Coordinate Safety Case and Barrier Management efforts to maintain effective safety barriers.
• Review Management of Change requests to maintain plant, field, and process safety.
• Monitor process safety indicators, identify trends, and support corrective actions.
• Support L3 Manage Operations Risk and L3 Ensure Process Safety processes.
• Represent Process Safety and Risk Engineering in HAZOP, HAZID, 3D model, SIL, and QRA project reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; chemical, mechanical, or safety engineering is preferred.
• At least eight years of oil and gas experience in process safety, loss prevention, risk management, or technical safety is required.
• Experience in process safety and risk assessment or studies is required.
• Ability to lead HAZOP, What-If, and other recognized hazard identification reviews is required.
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques is required.
• Practical knowledge of safe systems of work and emergency preparedness is required.
