Role Overview
CFA's Fleet Engineering team designs, procures, and modifies emergency response vehicles for volunteers and communities across Victoria.
The Senior Officer Engineering provides technical expertise across fleet and capital build programs.
The role supports safe, fit-for-purpose, reliable, and compliant emergency response vehicle designs.
Design and Configuration
- Develop 2D and 3D technical drawings and CAD designs for firefighting and specialist vehicles.
- Support vehicle configuration, stowage layouts, locker designs, and bracketry using CAD and mock-up models.
- Provide technical content, drawings, and imagery for operating manuals and documentation.
Suppliers and Improvement
- Work with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve warranty issues, reworks, and post-delivery problems.
- Research manufacturing methods and recommend improvements to vehicle design, reliability, and operational capability.
- Assess supplier proposals and manufacturing processes against engineering, operational, and compliance requirements.
