Role Overview

  • The Senior Munitions Inspector is the technical expert and advisor for the USAF Munitions Surveillance Program (MSP).
  • Appointed as the focal point for managing the Department's MSP and inspector qualification/certification program per DAFMAN 21 201.
  • Performs surveillance inspections of munitions to determine serviceability, hazards, and deterioration.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Diligently manages the MSP in accordance with DAFMAN 21 201
  • Advises the Munitions Superintendent about all aspects of the MSP
  • Monitors surveillance actions and performance of assigned Inspectors
  • Operates and analyzes applicable TICMS products
  • Inspects munitions and containers in accordance with 11A 1 10 and other technical directives
  • Consistently observes and enforces all USAF and host nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards
  • In the event of an emergency, takes necessary control measures
  • Conducts all munitions work according to established quality processes and technical standards
  • Accurately documents all serviceability and accountability actions
  • Coordinates with Accountability Section and USAF MASO to resolve discrepancies
  • Conducts warehouse inventories and corrects discrepancies
  • Ensures USAF custody accounts are an integral part of the department master surveillance program

Minimum Requirements

  • Intermediate level knowledge of the USAF Supply and Tech Order systems or US Service equivalent
  • Intermediate level knowledge of current MIS applicable to PGM activities
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office
  • May be required to operate material handling equipment
  • Valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completed formal USAF Munitions Systems training or US Service equivalent
  • Must meet prerequisites for a Senior Munitions Inspector in accordance with DAFMAN 21 201
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as USAF Munitions Inspector within the past 48 months or attended AETC course
  • Minimum of seven years' experience with USAF Military Munitions or US service equivalent
  • Minimum of five years combined supervisory experience in USAF munitions activities and MMHE
  • Must be capable attending the USAF Munitions Inspector Course

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control and inspection procedures experience
  • Preferred TICMS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS/DPAS M&U for Munitions and MMHE experience
  • Preferred intermediate experience in the operation of forklifts and tractor trailers
  • Preferred CCAF degree in Munitions Management
