Senior MEP Engineer

Job Summary

Work Arrangement

• The employment type is full-time.
• The work arrangement is on-site in Dubai, UAE.

Design and Consultant Management

• Manage consultants through MEP concept and detailed design stages.
• Review design concepts, calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical deliverables.
• Coordinate MEP designs with architectural, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines.
• Monitor consultant performance, timelines, design gaps, risks, and coordination issues.

Site Supervision and Construction

• Conduct site inspections and monitor MEP construction activities and workmanship.
• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and other MEP works against approved requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and project teams to resolve site issues.
• Track progress and highlight delays, risks, and technical concerns to management.

Technical Submissions and Approvals

• Oversee review and approval of shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Ensure consultant comments are addressed and technical submissions are closed on time.
• Oversee MEP authority approvals and coordinate submissions, comments, inspections, and closures.
• Ensure compliance with DEWA, DCD, Dubai Municipality, Empower, and other relevant authorities.

Coordination and Change Management

• Coordinate MEP services and review layouts to identify clashes before execution.
• Support clash detection and resolution using Navisworks and BIM platforms.
• Review scope changes and assess technical, cost, quality, and schedule impacts.
• Document, approve, and communicate modifications to relevant parties.

Quality and Handover

• Ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, UAE regulations, HSE requirements, and applicable standards.
• Support testing, commissioning, snagging, final handover, progress reporting, and project close-out documentation.

Tools and Software

• AutoCAD is used for technical and shop drawing review.
• Revit and BIM are used for MEP design and coordination.
• Navisworks is used for clash detection and 3D model coordination.
• HAP is used for HVAC load calculations and system design review.
• BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud support document control and design coordination.
• Microsoft Office supports reports, presentations, tracking, and project documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or MEP engineering is required.
• At least 12 years of MEP engineering experience in the UAE construction industry is required.
• Developer- or consultant-side experience is highly preferred.
• High-rise and luxury residential project experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, UAE codes, standards, regulations, and authority approvals is required.
• Experience managing consultants and contractors and multiple project priorities is required.
