This is a residential contract based in Qatar.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- At least six years of experience in an oil and gas environment.
- Attained Senior Engineer competency level under the Mechanical Technical Competencies framework.
- Knowledge of design calculations and verifications using PV Elite, CAESAR II, and Nozzle Pro.
- Ability to apply engineering judgment to pressure vessel repairs and alterations in compliance with NBIC.
- Able to work and make decisions under highly stressful conditions.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong leadership and people skills.
- Computer literacy with regular use of professional office and technical applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support for piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and packaged equipment.
- Support design reviews, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, advanced troubleshooting, and maintenance modification work packs.
- Define and document best practices and recommend performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical input to other disciplines and functions.
- Identify plant problems involving static equipment and piping, including degradation, failure, and malfunction.
- Control and supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers.
- Guide less experienced engineers in implementing integrity and reliability systems.
- Support project tie-in requirements for systems within the area of responsibility.
- Maintain an issue register and resolve critical reliability and availability issues.
- Provide Management of Change technical support for assigned assets.
- Participate in safety, review, improvement, failure analysis, and risk assessment activities.
