Job Overview
The Senior Materials & Coatings Engineer improves the Materials & Coatings discipline using internal and external best practices.
The role provides technical expertise, solves complex discipline problems, and supports customer, operational, project, and service activities.
The engineer acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues and works within applicable guidelines and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform conceptual, FEED, study, and detailed analyses and design according to design bases, project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Prepare material design analyses, reports, procedures, material selection reports, diagrams, and metallurgical technical specifications.
- Develop and review materials and coatings deliverables for refinery units, petrochemical units, offshore installations, and related projects.
- Coordinate and contribute to risk-based inspection studies and perform unsupervised vendor document reviews.
- Support bid clarification meetings, bid reviews, pre-inspection meetings, proposals, estimates, technical queries, and execution statements.
- Review vendor and subcontractor submittals, checking compliance with project specifications and providing comments.
- Supervise and review metallurgy engineers and guide less experienced engineers on procedures, standards, calculations, software, and evaluations.
