Quest Global is hiring a Senior Java Backend Engineer to develop scalable backend systems and solve complex engineering problems.
The role works across product, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to deliver software features end to end.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain microservices architecture.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs.
- Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or PCF.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices.
Required experience and skills
- Five to ten years of experience in backend development.
- Strong experience in Java 8 or later.
- Hands-on expertise with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data.
- Solid understanding of REST API design principles.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
Good-to-have qualifications
- Hands-on experience with API automation testing using Rest Assured, Postman, Karate, or similar tools.
- Exposure to event-driven architecture using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of security best practices including OAuth2 and JWT.
