Role overview

Conduct advanced structural and thermal analyses for gas turbine components including blades, vanes, disks, and casings.

Provide technical mentorship and collaborate with customers while supporting component integrity, reliability, and performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform linear and nonlinear structural, thermal, modal, vibration, static, and fatigue analyses.
  • Evaluate thermal stresses, gradients, natural frequencies, Campbell diagrams, and forced response for HCF and LCF risks.
  • Develop simplified finite element solutions based on the underlying physics.
  • Correlate analytical models with physical test data.
  • Support the product lifecycle from conceptual design through validation and field issue resolution.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and certification bodies.
  • Standardize and automate FEA workflows while maintaining quality metrics.
  • Mentor the team technically, collaborate with customers, and communicate findings to engineering and leadership audiences.

Required qualifications

  • BTech or MTech in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of structural analysis experience in rotating machinery or the gas turbine industry.
  • Strong knowledge of finite element methods, fatigue, fracture mechanics, creep, high-temperature materials, and rotor dynamics.
  • Knowledge of submodeling, coupled-field analysis, and cyclic-symmetric analysis.

Software skills

  • Proficiency in ANSYS Classic, ANSYS Workbench, and APDL macros.
  • Basic knowledge of UG-NX and HyperMesh.
  • Python or MATLAB scripting is a plus.
