Role Overview

Conduct advanced structural and thermal analyses for gas turbine components, including blades, vanes, disks, and casings.

Support component integrity, reliability, and performance across the product lifecycle.

Mentor the team technically and collaborate between the engineering team and customer.

Analysis Responsibilities

  • Perform complex linear and non-linear structural, thermal, modal, and vibration analyses.
  • Perform static, modal, and fatigue analyses on rotating and static hardware.
  • Conduct steady-state and transient thermal simulations for thermal stress and gradient evaluation.
  • Analyze natural frequencies, Campbell diagrams, and forced response for HCF and LCF risk assessment.
  • Develop simplified finite element models based on the physics of the problem.
  • Correlate analytical models with physical test data.

Project and Collaboration Duties

  • Support the product lifecycle from conceptual design through validation and field issue resolution.
  • Document analysis results, assumptions, and recommendations in technical reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to FEA workflow standardization and automation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate clearly with engineering and leadership audiences.
  • Maintain first-time quality metrics and consistent project excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • BTech or MTech in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • At least 10 years of structural analysis experience in rotating machinery or the gas turbine industry.
  • Proficiency in ANSYS Classic, ANSYS Workbench, and APDL macros.
  • Basic knowledge of UG-NX and HyperMesh.
  • Strong finite element methods knowledge.
  • Knowledge of HCF and LCF fatigue, fracture mechanics, creep, high-temperature material behavior, and rotor dynamics.
  • Knowledge of submodeling, coupled-field analysis, and cyclic-symmetric analysis.

Additional Skills

  • Python or MATLAB scripting is a plus.

Workplace

  • The source description does not specify a workplace arrangement.

Benefits

  • Benefits are provided according to company standard and regional policy.
