Responsibilities
- Plan and support instrumentation and Fire & Gas engineering during startup through handover to the permanent asset.
- Ensure project deliverables meet safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability expectations.
- Participate in design reviews, SIL workshops, assessments, verification, HAZOP, commissioning, startup, failure analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Support surveillance, integrity, reliability, availability, and cybersecurity programs for critical systems.
- Supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers and guide less experienced engineers.
- Maintain an issue register and resolve critical project risks.
- Support high-risk commissioning through system surveillance, tuning, optimization, and operational advice.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- At least 6 years of experience in an oil and gas environment.
- Working knowledge of DCS, PLCs, ESD/F&G systems, anti-surge control systems, metering systems, and turbine/compressor control systems.
- Full knowledge of SIL requirements.
- Ability to work and make decisions under highly stressful conditions.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Strong leadership and people skills.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office, SAP, CONVAL, and InstruCal.
Compensation
- Compensation is stated as a day rate in USD plus an allowance.
Schedule and Duration
- The work schedule is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
- The assignment duration is 3 years, with a possible extension.
Location
- The role is located in Qatar and supports startup, commissioning, and field operations for project facilities.
