About the Role
A Senior Engineer, Rotating Equipment is needed to provide technical expertise in maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of rotating equipment in an oil and gas plant. The role involves supervising installation, reviewing maintenance plans, and ensuring equipment reliability.

Responsibilities
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, trouble shooting and modification activities of rotating equipment in the plant
- Review preventive maintenance plans / schedules and prepare task list / maintenance programmes for rotating equipment
- Provide guidance and advice on actions to be taken on chronic problems, and review requirement for major repair and spares replacements
- Participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines to address mitigations and controls
- Ensure availability of spares, coordinate and follow up new material orders, create new proposal for stocking spares
- Prepare new maintenance procedures, method statement for new activities and schedule long term activities as per plant shutdown schedules
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and sections to optimize utilization of manpower
- Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects
- Prepare new plant change requests (PCR), study proposed PCR for implementation and work out plans and schedules
- Participate in HAZOP review and SIL validation meetings
- Carry out study for major rotating equipment frequent failures and provide recommendations
- Participate in RCA for incidents related to rotating equipment and provide findings and recommendations
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Professional Qualification
- 8 years of experience in engineering and maintenance of Rotating equipment within a large industrial organization, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry
- Extensive experience in rotating equipment design, engineering, construction and maintenance and operation in the oil and gas industry
- Familiarity of international design codes and standards
- Ability to prepare design, procurement, construction, (pre) commissioning and hand over specification packages for rotating equipment
- Familiarity of the capabilities and shortcomings of major rotating equipment manufacturers
- Proven track record of conducting technical and commercial negotiations with manufacturers
- Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices
- Planning and Organising, Scheduling and Coordinating, Checking, Examining and Recording skills

Job Purpose
- Provide technical expertise in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul and shutdowns to maintain rotating equipment effectively and efficiently to achieve high degree of availability, reliability and integrity for plant production.
Key Accountabilities
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, repair, trouble shooting and modification activities of rotating equipment in the plant to ensure safe and efficient services.
- Review preventive maintenance plans / schedules and prepare task list / maintenance programmes for rotating equipment in the plant and supervise the execution of such programmes.
- Provide guidance and advice on actions to be taken on chronic problems, and review requirement for major repair and spares replacements to ensure that all equipment is in accordance with internationally recognized engineering standard.
- Participate in Risk Assessment exercises and prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the mitigations and controls.
- Ensure availability of spares, coordinate and follow up new material orders. Create new proposal for stocking spares (PFS) mainly for new equipment, create item change request, spare parts control, and delete unwanted inventories from the stock.
- Prepare new maintenance procedures, method statement for new activities and schedule long term activities as per plant shutdown schedules.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and sections to optimize the utilization of section manpower and to plan and control the major & minor shutdown activities and expenditures.
- Provide technical support for development, implementation and commissioning of new projects in the mechanical design and specifications to optimize costs and ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
- Prepare new plant change requests (PCR), study the proposed PCR for implementation and work out plans and schedules for implementing them.
- Participate in HAZOP review and SIL validation meetings.
- Carry out study for major rotating equipment frequent failures and provide recommendations.
- Participate in RCA for incidents related to rotating equipment and provide findings and recommendations.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
