Role Overview
The Senior Engineer - Roadway Design will act as the Roadway Design Lead on major transportation projects.
The role supports complex provincial MTO and municipal roadway assignments from preliminary through detailed design.
Projects may include freeways, urban and rural highways, interchanges, and intersections.
The role may be based in the Mississauga, Toronto, Markham, or Bowmanville offices.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion.
- Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal preliminary and detailed design projects.
- Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Review plans, profiles, and design models in Civil 3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.
- Coordinate with drainage, utilities, and municipal services teams.
- Conduct site inspections and support constructability reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and technologists and maintain relationships with clients and agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Ontario P.Eng. licence or immediate eligibility.
- Minimum 10 years of roadway or highway design experience.
- Experience with MTO and/or municipal clients and complex detailed design projects.
- Knowledge of highway engineering standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to an insured vehicle.
- Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
