Role Overview
CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for its Buildings team in Edmonton.
The role supports healthcare, post-secondary, municipal, infrastructure, and commercial building projects across Alberta.
The position combines technical design, project coordination, site visits, and construction support.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design building electrical systems covering lighting, power distribution, communications, security, and fire alarms.
- Prepare electrical designs, drawings, and models using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Perform calculations and assist with equipment selection and system layouts.
- Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations and support construction activities.
- Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Support proposals and project planning.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Assist with mentoring junior staff and local team development.
- Engage with clients and contribute to the growth of the Edmonton Buildings practice.
Qualifications
- Eligible for membership with APEGA as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng.
- Over six years of electrical engineering experience in the buildings sector.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is required.
- Valid Canadian driver's licence with access to transportation for site reviews and inspections.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong commitment to client service.
- Experience mentoring junior technical staff is an asset.
- Integrity, team spirit, and commitment to excellence.

- The role uses a hybrid work model with flexible hours, work from home, and work in the Edmonton office.
- The position includes site visits and field engagement for projects throughout Alberta.
