About the Role
ADNOC Group is seeking a Senior Engineer for Process Automation to provide technical expertise in process control, optimization, and digitalization for oil & gas operations. The role involves reviewing systems, leading projects, and ensuring HSE compliance.

Responsibilities
- Review, study and provide technical and engineering expertise in Process Automation covering base layer process control, control loop performance assessment, advanced process control, real time optimization, alarm management system, digitalization and automation
- Review and recommend improvements to Process Automation systems in compliance with HSE measures and international standards
- Facilitate implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of process automation activities at the Site
- Develop and update relevant procedures to maintain robust and consistent processes
- Monitor and evaluate performance of existing process automation applications and systems in terms of uptime, performance, monetary benefits, standardization, and obsolescence
- Conduct analysis on various alternatives for optimum solutions to effectively support Plant operations
- Lead/review feasibility studies conducted by external consultants to evaluate financial and technical viability of applications
- Lead approved projects' implementation carried out by external consultants during different activities and phases
- Develop/review scope of work to facilitate process automation processes' implementation in conformity with HSE measures
- Develop/lead development performed by external consultants on new and existing applications functional specifications, design, as built documentation, user manuals, training materials and maintenance procedures
- Perform troubleshooting on process automation systems and related applications to maximize availability and reliability
- Identify and implement optimization programs that enable the Plant to operate efficiently at optimum conditions and with maximum yield
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Petrochemical, Process Control Engineering, or equivalent
- 8 years of experience in process control and optimization within the Oil & Gas industry
- Solid knowledge of process control & optimization and process automation systems such as DCS, BLPC, APC, RTO, CLPM, AMS, Dashboards
- Working background in implementation of at least 2 RTO and 4 APC projects and leading alarm rationalization and suppression activities
- Sound knowledge and experience in development, reviews, and execution of process control and automation technical standards and procedures
- Knowledge of latest technological developments and their implications on business in view of variety of processes, DCS, and ICS control applications
- Extensive knowledge of guidelines and specifications for Process Control in CONCEPT, SELECT, and DEFINE project phases
- Good knowledge of relevant national and international regulations and standards
- Good knowledge of HSE principles and their applications relevant to Oil & Gas industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Purpose

- Review and recommend, on a periodic basis, improvements to Process Automation systems in compliance with HSE measures and international standards to promote efficiency.
- Facilitate the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of process automation activities at the Site to meet the planned output.
- Develop and update the relevant procedures to maintain robust and consistent processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing process automation applications and systems in terms of uptime, performance, monetary benefits, standardization, and obsolescence.
- Conduct judicious analysis on various alternatives for optimum solutions to effectively support the Plant’s operations.
- Lead/review the feasibility studies, conducted by external consultants, to evaluate the financial and technical viability of applications.
- Lead the approved projects’ implementation, carried out by external consultants, during different activities and phases which include scope of work, tender documents, technical bid evaluation, engineering, installation and commissioning.
- Develop/review the scope of work to facilitate the process automation processes’ implementation in conformity with HSE measures.
- Develop/lead the development performed by external consultants on new and existing applications functional specifications, design, as built documentation, user manuals, training materials and maintenance procedures to ensure the effective utilization of systems and applications.

Additional Accountabilities
- Lead/facilitate the alarm rationalization workshops and implement the recommendations in an effective and timely manner to improve the alarm’s performance.
- Evaluate, technically, the vendors and contractors to support the Procurement Division in the pre qualification process, as required.
- Conduct knowledge sharing sessions and trainings to contribute to the overall sustenance of the process automation solutions.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Petrochemical, Process Control Engineering, or any other equivalent qualification.
