- Analyze resource requirements, capacity constraints, and demand forecasts to create realistic and achievable plans
- Conduct detailed feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential bottlenecks and mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, align priorities, and ensure plan execution
- Monitor plan performance against established metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement
- Manage budget forecasting and cost analysis related to planning initiatives
- Mentor junior planning engineers and support team development to build organizational capability
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices to enhance planning efficiency
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, presentations, and dashboards to communicate planning insights to senior management
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards in all planning activities
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in planning, scheduling, or related functions
- Advanced proficiency in planning software such as SAP, Oracle Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent tools
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work with complex data sets
- Demonstrated expertise in project planning, resource allocation, and capacity management
- Proficiency in budget forecasting, cost analysis, and financial planning
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Proven ability to work independently and lead cross functional initiatives
- Experience in oil and gas, construction, manufacturing, or related industries (preferred)
- Knowledge of lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices (preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems implementation or optimization (preferred)
