Job Purpose

Monitor HSE performance and practices to ensure operations and plant assets operate safely and comply with HSE standards, policies, and procedures.

Act as a focal point for HSE management system implementation and support HSE resolution, communications, training, and development projects.

HSE Monitoring

  • Monitor HSE inspections, compliance, performance, and high-impact inspection activities for equipment, assets, facilities, and operations.
  • Review cross-functional reports and act as a point of contact for safety, health, environment, HSE management systems, and ADNOC COP matters.
  • Revise purchasing standards so equipment and materials meet applicable safety codes and current technology requirements.

Operations Safety

  • Identify hazardous and high-risk activities and mitigate risks involving hazardous, waste, and toxic materials.
  • Monitor HSE tools, equipment, personal protective equipment, and related safety resources.
  • Support preventive maintenance, plant safety programs, safety manuals, hazardous-area instructions, and corrective actions.
  • Prepare and update safety inspection checklists and schedules.

HSE Initiatives and Projects

  • Lead or participate in HSE impact assessments, HAZOP, HAZID, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Audit and assess projects, initiatives, and updates to support continuous development.
  • Lead housekeeping and environmental activities and initiatives in the plant.

Training and Incident Management

  • Assess HSE training needs, align training with HSE technical and management functions, and conduct HSE training and communications.
  • Lead or monitor evacuation and emergency drills and communicate updates to policies, procedures, practices, and technology.
  • Analyze accidents, investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, and follow up through close-out.
  • Lead crisis communications within the HSE chain of command and prepare HSE activity reports.

Supervision and Budgets

  • Plan, supervise, and coordinate activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop assigned staff on relevant skills.
  • Provide input to functional budgets and assist with approved budgets and work plans.

Requirements

  • Experience or capability in HSE management systems implementation and compliance monitoring.
  • Ability to conduct or participate in HSE impact assessments, HAZOP, HAZID, root cause analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Ability to investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions through close-out.
  • Ability to assess HSE training needs and deliver or facilitate training and emergency exercises.
  • Ability to prepare analysis and reports for routine and non-routine HSE activities.
  • Ability to plan, supervise, and coordinate activities in an assigned operational area.
