About the Role
AECOM seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer for construction supervision of electromechanical works on infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role requires overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with standards.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and inspect electromechanical works on site, including electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation systems.
- Review and comment on shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, ITPs, and as built drawings.
- Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for key equipment.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant standards (DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, NFPA, IEC).
- Identify and report non conformances, follow up on corrective actions.
- Liaise with authorities for inspections, approvals, and NOCs.
- Coordinate with Contractor’s electromechanical team and other discipline engineers.
- Oversee pre commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Review and verify O&M manuals, training materials, and spare parts lists.
- Assist in punch list preparation, system performance verification, and final handover.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, commissioning activities.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on electromechanical works progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in electromechanical engineering
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or senior engineering role on infrastructure projects
- Proven experience on STP (Sewage Treatment Plant), sewerage line, and stormwater projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation systems integration
- Familiarity with DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, NFPA, and IEC standards
- Experience with factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT)
- Proficiency in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and as built documentation
- Demonstrated experience in commissioning and pre commissioning activities for complex systems

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in electromechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or senior engineering role on infrastructure projects
- Proven experience on STP (Sewage Treatment Plant), sewerage line, and stormwater projects
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, control, and instrumentation systems integration
- Familiarity with relevant standards and codes including DEWA, Dubai Civil Defence, NFPA, and IEC standards
- Experience with factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for industrial equipment
- Proficiency in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and as built documentation
- Demonstrated experience in commissioning and pre commissioning activities for complex systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent licensure in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with SCADA systems, traffic signal systems, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
- Experience working with government authorities and obtaining NOCs
- Proficiency in project management software, MS Office applications, and technical documentation standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
