About the Role
Yokogawa is seeking a Senior Engineer for EMS Solutions in Abu Dhabi to lead energy management and optimization projects for refinery and petrochemical clients.

Responsibilities
- Lead energy management and utility optimization initiatives using KBC Visual MESA, including steam, power, fuel gas, hydrogen, and utility systems.
- Develop and maintain process simulation and Digital Twin models using Petro SIM, ensuring accurate representation of plant operations and integration with data historians, optimization platforms, and digital transformation programs.
- Design, implement, and support Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications to maximize refinery profitability, operational efficiency, and asset performance across process units and utility systems.
- Develop, commission, and maintain Advanced Process Control (APC) applications using Yokogawa PACE, including controller design, performance monitoring, tuning, and APC RTO integration for closed loop optimization.
- Collaborate closely with operations, planning, process engineering, and automation teams to identify and implement optimization opportunities that enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and economic performance.
- Conduct site assessments, system testing, commissioning, operator training, and post implementation support.
- Support digital transformation initiatives through advanced process modeling, analytics, and optimization technologies.
- Provide technical leadership during project execution, commissioning, and customer support activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related discipline. Master degree is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or process industries.
- Proven experience with KBC Visual MESA or equivalent energy platforms for utility and energy optimization.
- Strong hands on experience with Petro SIM, Aspen Plus, Hysys, Unisim process simulation software.
- Experience supporting or developing Digital Twin solutions for refinery or petrochemical facilities.
- Experience implementing and maintaining Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications.
- Hands on experience with Yokogawa PACE Advanced Process Control software.
- Strong understanding of refinery & petrochemical plants, utility systems, process modeling and simulation, energy management systems, process control and optimization.
- Knowledge of process economics and refinery margin optimization.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer facing skills.
- Willingness to travel across the Middle East region as required for project execution.

Job Purpose
- The Senior Engineer – EMS Solutions is responsible for delivering advanced Energy Management System (EMS) solutions for Refinery, Petrochemical, and industrial clients. - Hands on experience with Petro SIM, Aspen Hysys, Unisim Design, Pro II for steady state and dynamic process simulation model development, validation, and maintenance.
- Proven experience in Digital Twin implementation, including model development, integration, testing, and lifecycle support.
- Experience developing, implementing, and supporting Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications for refinery and utility operations.
- Advanced knowledge of Yokogawa PACE Advanced Process Control (APC), Honeywell Profit Suite, DMC3 software, including controller design, configuration, commissioning, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of refinery process units, utility systems, and energy intensive operations.
- Knowledge of process control fundamentals, multivariable predictive control (MPC), optimization algorithms, and closed loop optimization.
- Experience integrating process models and optimization applications with plant historians, DCS, and industrial data platforms.
