Role summary

The Senior Data Governance Analyst strengthens data governance practices across business and technology teams in a complex financial services environment.

The role drives governance, metadata management, data quality, data risk, and technology risk initiatives.

Key accountabilities

  • Support development, implementation, and enforcement of enterprise data governance policies, standards, and controls.
  • Define data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models with business, technology, risk, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Drive metadata management, data lineage, data catalog, and data quality initiatives using platforms such as Collibra, Alation, and Informatica.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor data risk and technology risk related to critical data assets.
  • Support CMDB and IT Asset Management governance in ServiceNow where applicable.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, influence cross-functional teams, and support sustainable solutions for data issues.
  • Perform data analysis and technical assessments using databases and data management tools.
  • Define governance metrics, monitor control effectiveness, and track remediation activities.
  • Support regulatory, audit, and risk management activities and provide governance subject matter expertise.

Qualifications

  • 5–8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related disciplines within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or similar enterprise data governance tools.
  • Hands-on experience with databases, data models, SQL, and related technologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, influencing, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • ServiceNow ITAM, CMDB, and Data Risk or Technology Risk experience are preferred.
  • DCAM certification or training is considered an asset.

Compensation

  • The stated salary range is $70,000 to $150,000.
