Responsibilities
- Lead pre commissioning, commissioning, and start up activities for telecom systems
- Ensure telecom systems are tested, safe, and handed over properly
- Act as key interface between contractor and asset owner
- Deliver projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality & HSE standards
- Plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities
- Oversee pre commissioning, mechanical completion, commissioning & handover
- Lead engineers, technicians, and contractors
- Review engineering designs, drawings, and procedures
- Approve commissioning documents and certifications
- Troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and client standards
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication (or similar)
- 15+ years in Oil & Gas industry
- At least 10 years in telecom commissioning, including offshore projects
- Strong experience in FEED & EPIC projects
- Experience in contractor deliverables review/approval
- Chartered Engineer status (preferable)
- Offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET) (preferable)
- Experience in Instrumentation & Control (advantageous)

Role Overview
- The Senior Commissioning Engineer – Telecommunications role involves leading and managing all pre commissioning, commissioning, and start up activities for telecom systems in oil and gas projects, particularly offshore environments.
- The engineer acts as a key interface between contractors and asset owners, ensuring that all systems are installed, tested, and handed over in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication (or similar).
- 15+ years in Oil & Gas industry.
- At least 10 years in telecom commissioning, including offshore projects.
- Strong experience in FEED & EPIC projects.
- Contractor deliverables review/approval.
- Chartered Engineer status (preferable).
- Offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET) (preferable).
- Experience in Instrumentation & Control would be advantageous.
Technical Expertise Required
- Extensive knowledge of telecom systems such as CCTV, PA/GA systems, radio systems (VHF/UHF/microwave), structured cabling, telephony (IP phones, hotlines), AIS, e Mustering, telemetry, network management systems.
- FAT/SAT testing experience.
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards, HSE, and QA/QC.
