Senior Commissioning Engineer (Instrumentation)

Role Overview

Mandatory Qualification

• B.Sc. in an engineering discipline with extensive experience commissioning oil and gas projects.

Experience

• At least 12 years of experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of oil and gas processing plants.
• At least 8 years of experience as a Commissioning Coordinator or Team Leader.
• Offshore experience and experience with EPIC contracting companies are preferred.

Commissioning Leadership

• Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up in accordance with company procedures and guidelines.
• Define, mobilize, and manage the commissioning organization.
• Manage commissioning procedures, reporting tools, planning, databases, and punch list control.
• Manage execution to maximize productivity, minimize cost, and achieve smooth handover.
• Supervise commissioning reporting and scheduling and coordinate with project entities and existing facilities.

Contractor and Technical Oversight

• Review and approve contractor preparation tasks, work breakdown structures, priorities, resources, schedules, and management procedures.
• Review and approve commissioning dossiers, databases, operational test procedures, handover checklists, interfaces, punch lists, and sign-off certificates.
• Coordinate the company commissioning team and resolve package, system, and equipment performance issues with contractors and vendors.
• Check and endorse mechanical completion and witness and monitor contractor pre-commissioning activities.
• Control contractor commissioning activities, progress, reporting, punch lists, and corrective actions.
• Review and approve completed commissioning dossiers and sign Ready for Start-Up and handover certificates.

Safety and Improvement

• Promote HSE behavior and verify implementation of HSE procedures by the commissioning team.
• Improve commissioning procedures, standardize deliverables, and develop strategies to reduce offshore commissioning and interface-related lost time.
• Develop commissioning strategy and provide input to the project execution plan and early engineering stages.
• Participate in safety design reviews and studies.
