About the Role
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is seeking a Senior Chief Engineer to develop freight strategies, lead engineering studies, and manage freight infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
- Develop executive truck route plans using Freight Model and AI driven demand forecasts.
- Recommend regulations on curfews, axle load control, truck free zones, and dedicated freight corridors.
- Lead multi agency committees to align freight strategies, PPP opportunities, and future technologies.
- Advise on legislation, licensing standards, and RTA technical manuals.
- Coordinate with ports, airports, and Etihad Rail to build and maintain a freight traffic data platform.
- Conduct engineering studies for truck rest areas, weight stations, dedicated lanes, and logistics hubs.
- Review Level 2 traffic impact studies, permits, and road project designs.
- Investigate complaints, accident data, and congestion hot spots; provide engineering remedies.
- Draft terms of reference, evaluate bids, and manage contracts for freight infrastructure projects.
- Represent RTA in local and international forums, presenting technical papers.
- Design and update GIS heat maps, freight dashboards, and machine learning models.
- Propose quick win engineering or policy measures to mitigate truck related congestion and safety risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Transportation Planning or Logistics Management
- Master's degree/Ph.D in Supply Chain Management or Urban Planning preferred
- 5+ years experience with PhD, 7+ with Master's, 10+ with Bachelor's in related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification
- ArcGIS Certification

Strategy

Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Transportation Planning or Logistics Management.
- Master's degree/Ph.D in Supply Chain Management or Urban Planning preferred.
- 5+ years experience with PhD, 7+ with Master's, 10+ with Bachelor's in related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), ArcGIS Certification.
Physical Working Conditions
- Primarily office based with frequent site inspections of corridors, rest areas, and logistics hubs.
