Senior Backend Engineer Node.js + AWS

Role Responsibilities

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product teams, designers, and QA professionals.
• Participate in product planning from discovery through deployment across the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and enhance robust backend features and APIs.
• Design, code, test, and maintain applications and resolve defects.
• Build and optimize systems for scalability, high transaction volumes, concurrency, idempotency, and performance under load.
• Work autonomously and collaboratively in distributed teams while communicating complex technical ideas clearly.
• Deliver customer-focused, business-oriented software solutions.

Required Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript or JavaScript best practices.
• Experience with at least one additional server-side language.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience, including query optimization, data migrations, and database modeling.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Experience designing scalable systems and optimizing performance under high transaction volumes.
• Experience building APIs with input validation, JWT tokens, security, scalability, and queue-based systems.
• Experience working effectively in distributed teams with asynchronous collaboration.

Additional Qualifications

• SaaS experience with products operating continuously on major cloud vendors is advantageous.
• Experience with serverless architecture on AWS is advantageous.
• Knowledge of the fintech industry is advantageous.
