The company supports workers and businesses across more than 150 countries through a global payroll infrastructure and SaaS platform.

Role Summary

The role leads one of Deel’s largest and most complex client migration programs while improving tools and processes across the migration team.

The position owns the Deel Local Payroll migration program, monitors progress and blockers, validates payroll data, and keeps leadership informed.

Approximately 30% of the role involves special projects focused on automation, data mapping, validation, reporting, issue tracking, and process improvement.

Migration Operations

  • Track each migration, identify blockers, validate payroll data, and resolve mapping issues and inconsistencies before they affect clients.
  • Coordinate product, engineering, compliance, and operations teams to push through fixes and resolve problems.
  • Escalate timeline slippage and unclear ownership to leadership with a clear action and accountable owner.
  • Manage day-to-day operational workflows and identify areas for efficiency improvement.

Automation and Process Improvement

  • Use AI and automation tools to improve operational workflows, status reporting, checklists, issue tracking, data mapping, and validation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline tools and processes for internal teams and customers.
  • Identify process gaps and propose improvements proactively, including self-service options and feedback loops.
  • Drive customer-focused improvements to turnaround times, resolution quality, and escalation handling.

Controls and Performance

  • Ensure adherence to operational controls, compliance requirements, fraud prevention standards, and risk management practices.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and escalate risks or gaps to leadership.
  • Track and report operational outcomes with insights and recommendations.
  • Coordinate operational readiness for new product or market launches and support go-to-market adoption.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of operations experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use AI and automation tools to improve workflows and processes.
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams to identify gaps and prioritize solutions.
  • Experience with data mapping and reconciliation across systems.
  • Ability to manage and mentor small to mid-sized teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, analytical, and solutions-oriented skills.
  • Experience tracking and improving KPI-driven performance metrics.
  • Experience with process automation and operational tooling.
  • Tech or FinTech start-up experience, and backgrounds in FinTech, consulting, or banking, are preferred.
  • Payroll or payment systems experience is a plus but is not essential.

Salary ranges are quoted in USD as a global reference and localized to the candidate’s country; final pay depends on experience, skills, and location.
