- Build and maintain microservices that communicate through NATS, ensuring reliability and low latency
- Work with PostgreSQL for transactional data and Redis for caching and real time state
- Participate in migrating existing Python services to Go
- Design data models, define service contracts, and own the technical quality of your services
- Collaborate closely with the team on architecture decisions, code reviews, and production incident resolution
- Instrument services with logging, monitoring, and alerting for production observability
- Write unit tests for your code and collaborate with the QA team on integration and e2e test coverage
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Go, C/C++, Rust, or another systems level language
- Deep understanding of concurrent programming, networking, and systems level performance
- Experience developing trading platforms, OMS, execution engines, or similar financial infrastructure
- Experience with message brokers and event driven architectures (NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL — schema design, query optimization, transactions, migrations
- Experience with Redis for caching, pub/sub, or session management
- Comfortable with Docker and containerized deployments

Job Overview
- We are building an in house trading engine.
- We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join the core team and work across the full backend stack — from order execution and position management to infrastructure and inter service communication.
- This is not a maintenance role. You will be building and shipping critical trading infrastructure in a small, fast moving team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize backend services for a trading server — order lifecycle, execution, position management, margin, risk controls
- Build and maintain microservices that communicate through NATS, ensuring reliability and low latency
- Work with PostgreSQL for transactional data and Redis for caching and real time state

Tech Stack
- Languages: Go (primary, migration in progress), Python (current codebase). Candidates with strong C/C++ or Rust background are equally welcome
- Architecture: Microservices communicating via NATS (JetStream, request reply, pub sub)
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Cache: Redis
- Infrastructure: Docker, AWS (ECS), CI/CD
Requirements
- Backend development (7+ years)
- Strong proficiency in Go, C/C++, Rust, or another systems level language; experience with Python is a plus
- Willingness to work primarily in Go — our codebase is migrating to it
- Deep understanding of concurrent programming, networking, and systems level performance
- Experience building and operating backend services in production
- Experience developing trading platforms, OMS, execution engines, or similar financial infrastructure
- Understanding of order lifecycle, position management, margin calculation, and market data processing
- Familiarity with financial protocols (FIX, ITCH) is a plus
- Experience with message brokers and event driven architectures (NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
- Understanding of eventual consistency, idempotency, delivery guarantees, and failure handling in distributed systems
- Ability to design services that are stateless, horizontally scalable, and resilient
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL — schema design, query optimization, transactions, migrations
Nice to Have
- Experience with MetaTrader 5 internals, MQL5, or building MT5 plugins/bridges
- Experience with AWS (ECS, S3, or similar managed services)
- Experience with low latency or high frequency trading systems
- Knowledge of FIX protocol implementation (QuickFIX or similar)
- Performance profiling and optimization for latency sensitive systems
- Experience with load testing and capacity planning for trading workloads
- Experience with WebSocket or real time data streaming
- Background in prop trading platforms, funded trader programs, or crypto exchange infrastructure
