• The ICT Senior Applications Support Engineer will lead and oversee the support and maintenance of systems such as the Councils Electoral system, assist with the migration of solutions to the cloud, maintain system integrations, work with the Oracle Fusion project to update associated integrations and to assist in the support of satellite financial applications.
• The role will ensure: The reliable running of the applications whilst supporting users with issues. Developing existing applications ensure the solutions meet the evolving requirements of the customer and Council. Ensuring that solutions are up to date and continue to be compliant with the Councils Data Protection and Security policies.

About The Service
ICT is part of the Council’s Customer and Digital Services Directorate.
Its primary functions are:
to provide high quality IT systems, support and maintenance across the organisation
to provide strategic advice and guidance to the service areas and their directorates
to contribute to the delivery of the Council’s Digital First approach
The ICT Service consists of several functions including:
the Service Desk
Enterprise Systems and Data teams responsible for the development, support and maintenance of both in-house developed and 3rd party applications
ICT Services teams delivering network, server and end user computing services
Security and Compliance
Enterprise Architecture

What We Are Looking For From You
Support, Maintain and develop the Council’s Electoral Solution.
Support the Councils satellite financial solutions.
Engage, advise and contribute to the ERP replacement project.
Co-ordinate and manage systems maintenance and upgrades of on premise and cloud solutions.
Ensure that all applications supported by this role adhere to corporate compliance and security standards.
Provide best practice advice and support for Cardiff Council ICT and Information Governance Processes.
Work with suppliers to ensure Applications are supported to the highest possible level.
Work with customers to identify and implement improvements and enhancements to existing solutions.
Take a lead consultancy role on any projects and developments arising.
Directly manage Application Support Analyst(s) and ensure the appropriate development objectives, training and mentoring is in place.
Support existing and develop new integrations between systems.
Ensure that all support and guidance documentation and information is continuously maintained.
Analyse and resolve support tickets logged by internal users.
Collaborate with internal teams and external support providers to resolve system issues.
Develop knowledge and skills within the team to ensure a resilient support service and for individual development.
