Role Overview

Qatar Airways is seeking a Senior Accountant - Taxation for its Global Business Services operation in Ahmedabad, India.

The role manages tax compliance, tax accounting, reporting, and taxation matters under applicable local laws.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly tax statements for outstations and identify tax receivable and payable drivers.
  • Compute taxes, arrange payments, and file tax returns on time.
  • Prepare the airline's corporate income tax return.
  • Coordinate tax accrual accounting and maintain accurate tax general ledger schedules.
  • Maintain compliance checklists for applicable taxes and review taxation contracts against actual invoices.
  • Assist with tax litigation, advisory matters, and external tax consultant coordination.
  • Conduct monthly impairment reviews using Oracle Financials and investigate budget variances.
  • Prepare tax forecasts, annual tax health checks, and quarterly activity updates.
  • Support internal and external audit information gathering and resolve notices and unfiled returns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years of job-related experience.
  • User-level experience with any ERP system and proficiency with spreadsheets.
  • Strong aviation-specific experience in expenditure or revenue accounting.
  • Ability to analyze and explain financial or management accounts to finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Knowledge of contracts and local corporate tax, GST, withholding tax, and payroll tax regulations.
