Role Overview

Qatar Airways is hiring a Senior Accountant to support its Record to Report team and Global Business Services operations in Ahmedabad, India.

The position is responsible for period-end closing, financial planning and reporting accounting, and support for internal and external audits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform period-end close activities, including general ledger processing, provisions, accruals, ledger scrutiny, and bank and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Enter data and book general entries in the ERP system and provide financial data according to deliverables.
  • Close the books on time, prepare financial statements, and review general ledger schedules.
  • Maintain the fixed assets register and prepare monthly reconciliations and annual audit schedules.
  • Support tax filing, liaison, and assessment activities for applicable regions.
  • Perform fixed asset and lease accounting calculations with the business finance team.
  • Resolve R2R queries within defined turnaround times and prepare IFRS supporting documentation.
  • Perform and review daily bank reconciliations and troubleshoot bank access issues.
  • Respond to audit queries and manage escalations from team members.

Qualification

  • CA Final, CA Inter, or a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a similar area of study with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Candidates from the airline industry or tax consulting are preferred.
  • User-level experience with Oracle, SAP, or other ERP systems is preferred.
