Senior Accountant

Role Overview

Accounting and Financial Management

• Manage daily accounting activities and record financial transactions accurately and on time.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, management accounts, supporting schedules, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations; monitor receivables and payables.
• Support month-end and year-end closing and maintain accurate general ledger accounts and controls.

Construction and Project Accounting

• Maintain project-wise accounts, cost records, and expense allocations.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and coordinate with project managers and quantity surveyors.
• Track project expenses, materials, subcontractor payments, labour costs, profitability, and cost variances.
• Support project invoices and payment applications and ensure accurate allocation across projects, departments, and business units.

Group Company Accounting

• Handle intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and balances between group companies.
• Assist with consolidated financial information and allocate shared costs and expenses across group entities.
• Coordinate with finance teams across different group companies when required.

Compliance and Team Support

• Support UAE VAT calculations, VAT returns, audit requirements, accounting records, and reports for management and stakeholders.
• Guide junior accounting staff, improve accounting processes and internal controls, and coordinate with HR, procurement, operations, and project teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of UAE accounting experience specifically in a construction or contracting company.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost allocation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, and UAE VAT.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency, analytical and numerical ability, accuracy, integrity, communication, and deadline management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a group of companies and with accounting or ERP systems is preferred.
• CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA, or another relevant professional qualification is advantageous.
• Construction project costing, subcontractor accounting, and accounting for multiple entities are preferred.

Compensation

• Compensation is AED 6,000 to AED 9,000 per month.

Workplace

• The role is performed in person.
