Purpose of the Job
Manage the salesmen team and supervise sales and distribution activities for assigned routes.
Ensure sales and secondary distribution meet company policies, sales targets, and key performance indicators.
Sales and Distribution
- Assist management with setting sales targets and motivate sales staff to achieve them within agreed costs and operating parameters.
- Gather information about sales channels and competitor activity and agree appropriate actions with management.
- Ensure sales staff execute the replenishment program and maintain product availability and freshness.
- Execute agreements with modern trade and wholesale customers when applicable.
- Optimize daily journey planning and customer routes for the sales team.
Product and Customer Management
- Monitor product shelf life, shelf availability, product rotation, and wastage at points of sale.
- Initiate and organize sales to new customers in assigned routes.
- Execute credit policy and manage credit and collections to ensure timely payments.
People and Administration
- Ensure appropriate staffing and manage people in line with company HR policies.
