Safety Officer role based in Dubai, UAE.
The role supports installation, maintenance, and modernization projects in the elevator industry.
The contract duration is one year.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Monitor elevator work activities and enforce safe work practices.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and prepare corrective-action reports.
- Maintain HSE records, permits, documentation, and reports.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and drills.
- Identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure correct PPE use and adherence to site safety requirements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer.
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and industry best practices.
- Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project sites.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or an equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
- Elevator industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with elevator installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning is preferred.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to enforce safety standards effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to train and influence teams.
- Immediate joiners or candidates available on short notice are preferred.
