Rigging Supervisor

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise all lifting, rigging, slinging, and crane operations at the site.
• Ensure lifting activities are carried out safely and strictly as per approved lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate and lead riggers, banksmen/signalmen, and crane operators during lifting activities.
• Inspect lifting accessories, shackles, slings, wire ropes, spreader beams, and other lifting equipment before use.
• Ensure all lifting equipment has valid inspection and certification.
• Verify load weight, centre of gravity, SWL/WLL, and appropriate selection of lifting accessories.
• Conduct toolbox talks and pre-lift meetings before lifting operations.
• Ensure proper barricading, exclusion zones, and safe working distances are maintained.
• Coordinate with the Appointed Person, HSE team, construction team, and crane operators.
• Stop lifting operations immediately if unsafe conditions or deviations from the approved lifting plan are identified.
• Monitor critical and heavy lifting activities and ensure compliance with site procedures.
• Maintain records of lifting activities, equipment inspections, and safety observations.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas lifting/rigging operations.
• Minimum 3 years in a Rigging/Lifting Supervisor or similar supervisory role.
• Experience in Oil & Gas construction, EPC, shutdown, maintenance, or heavy lifting projects.
• ADNOC/UAE project experience is highly preferred.
• Strong experience handling mobile cranes, crawler cranes, heavy lifting equipment, and various rigging accessories.
• ADNOC-approved Lifting Supervisor certification preferred/required as per project requirement.
• Valid Third-Party Lifting Supervisor/Rigging Supervisor certification preferred.
• LEEA or equivalent lifting/rigging certification will be an advantage.
• H2S and First Aid certification preferred.
• Knowledge of lifting plans, rigging calculations, load charts, and lifting accessories is essential.
• Good leadership and team coordination skills.
• Good communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
• Candidates with strong relevant supervisory experience may also be considered, subject to project requirements.
• ADNOC's lifting competency framework recognizes a Mechanical Engineering diploma/equivalent for Lifting Supervisors.
