RF Optimization & Drive Test Engineer – Water Coverage Survey

The Role

Field Survey Duties

• Conduct RF water surveys and drive tests across marine, coastal, offshore, waterfront, and designated water routes.
• Configure test devices, measurement profiles, GPS tracking, test scripts, and network or service configurations.
• Log RF KPIs, network conditions, route data, GPS coordinates, timestamps, serving cells, and measurement locations.
• Conduct voice and data testing where required and identify coverage, quality, interference, mobility, and service-performance issues.

Data Processing and Reporting

• Maintain organized and backed-up Nemo logs, GPS records, route information, screenshots, test results, and field data.
• Perform field-level validation, import files into Nemo Analyzer, and process logs for RF performance evaluation.
• Generate coverage plots, KPI analysis, geographical performance views, and route-based outputs.
• Prepare daily reports covering completed routes, network performance, concerns, abnormalities, and retest areas.

Coordination and Safety

• Coordinate findings and repeat surveys with RF Optimization, Network Planning, Project Management, and field teams.
• Keep survey equipment operational and charged throughout field activities.
• Follow project HSE, marine safety, client, and field-work procedures on boats or other water transport.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, route restrictions, weather constraints, and conditions affecting data quality.

Technical Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in RF drive testing, RF optimization, RF surveying, or similar telecom field testing.
• Strong hands-on Nemo Handy experience and practical Nemo Analyzer knowledge.
• Good understanding of LTE/4G, 5G NR, radio networks, RF KPIs, mobility, handovers, and service performance.
• Ability to configure test scenarios, interpret RF data, track routes with GPS, and prepare technical reports.

Field Requirements

• Experience with drive tests, route surveys, coverage verification, benchmarking, or field RF measurements is required.
• The role requires extensive outdoor and marine work, including travel by boat or other water transport.
• Willingness to work flexible hours based on survey routes, marine access, weather, and project schedules is required.
• Previous marine, offshore, coastal, island, or water-route RF survey experience is a strong advantage.

Work Location

• Work is performed in person and extensively in the field across water routes and marine environments.
