Field Technician role focused on fiber optic, FTTH/FTTx, and GPON work.
The role is based in Dubai, UAE and involves customer-site visits.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic and telecom equipment.
- Perform fiber installation, termination, splicing, testing, and fault rectification.
- Handle FTTH/FTTx installations and maintenance on GPON networks.
- Conduct site visits and resolve technical issues at customer locations.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshoot network faults.
- Prepare daily reports, follow technical and HSE standards, and coordinate assigned jobs.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Fiber Technician, Telecom Field Technician, or similar is required.
- A valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of fiber optics, GPON, FTTH/FTTx, splicing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting is required.
- Familiarity with OTDR and Power Meter equipment is required.
- Basic knowledge of ODF, ONU/ONT, OLT, patch panels, and fiber distribution systems is required.
- Applicants must be able to work outdoors, travel between Dubai sites, and collaborate with teams.
