About the Role
AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Resident Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role involves on-site supervision, quality assurance, safety compliance, and coordination with contractors and design teams.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and monitor work quality, progress, and adherence to project schedules on site
- Verify that all site safety measures comply with approved supervision plans and relevant regulations
- Execute specific inspection tasks and checklists as directed by senior engineering staff
- Coordinate and mentor junior technical staff, ensuring comprehensive review of construction activities including foundation works, structural elements, and specialized installations
- Compile detailed supervision reports documenting work progress, non conformities, and corrective actions; communicate findings transparently to senior management
- Review and verify that all construction works align with approved plans, temporary works designs, method statements, and protective measures
- Analyze and review contractor submissions for compliance and technical accuracy
- Monitor the performance and work quality of contractor technical personnel
- Attend and actively participate in site meetings and project coordination meetings
- Collaborate with the design office to address site related issues and coordinate technical solutions
- Conduct factory and material inspections in accordance with applicable codes of practice and project requirements
- Maintain organized documentation and records of all site activities and inspections
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field; OR a higher diploma/certificate in engineering with equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant site supervision and construction engineering experience (or 5+ years with diploma level qualification)
- Demonstrated experience in supervising foundation works, structural construction, and specialized building systems
- Strong knowledge of construction contractual requirements, safety regulations, and quality assurance standards
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction method statements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proven ability to work independently and make decisive decisions in dynamic site environments
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Solid understanding of construction project management principles and cost awareness
- Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and data analysis
- Familiarity with UAE construction standards, regulations, and best practices (preferred)
- Adaptability and resilience in managing multiple priorities and challenging site conditions
