The Research Engineer Robotics (Systems) designs, implements, and evaluates robotic systems that use advanced AI agents for real-world automation.
The role conducts applied research on algorithms and system architectures, develops prototypes, integrates hardware and software, and validates performance through experiments.
This is a full-time remote role.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, write clean and testable code, and analyze experimental results.
- Iterate on system designs for robustness, safety, and scalability.
- Document technical work, contribute to technical publications, and support production transition of research prototypes.
Qualifications
- Strong Computer Science foundation, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Experience in R&D and applied research for robotics, autonomous systems, or AI-driven control.
- Background in Physics or a related field with knowledge of dynamics, kinematics, and control systems.
- Proficiency designing and analyzing algorithms for perception, planning, control, or multi-agent coordination.
- Hands-on experience with robotics frameworks, simulation tools, and real or simulated robotic systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, Rust, or another suitable language, plus Linux development familiarity.
- Ability to design experiments, interpret data, and communicate findings clearly.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Machine learning or reinforcement learning for robotics and systems or distributed systems knowledge are beneficial.
- Comfort working remotely and collaboratively with strong problem-solving skills.
