The Senior Robotics Software Engineer will design, develop, and deploy advanced software for autonomous and semi-autonomous robotic systems that leverage Cruq AI’s agent platform.

In this full-time remote role, the engineer will architect and implement robust back-end services, control systems, and APIs that connect robotics hardware to AI agents and enterprise environments.

Day-to-day activities include writing production-quality code, building simulation and testing frameworks, integrating perception and planning algorithms, and optimizing system performance and reliability.

The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in AI, product, and hardware engineering to define technical requirements, review designs, and ensure seamless deployment of robotics solutions into real-world workflows.

Additionally, the role involves code reviews, documentation, mentoring of teammates, and continuous improvement of development practices and tooling.

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
• Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in modern languages commonly used in robotics (e.g., C++, Python).
• Experience in Back-End Web Development for APIs and services that connect robotics systems with cloud or enterprise platforms.
• Advanced skills in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and designing modular, scalable, and testable software architectures.
• Hands-on experience with robotics frameworks and tools (e.g., ROS/ROS2, Gazebo, simulation environments, real-time systems).
• Background in control systems, motion planning, or perception pipelines for autonomous robots is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
