Registered Nurse

Job Purpose

Clinical Duties

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, physical examinations, vital signs, and symptom monitoring.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide wound care and monitor for infection.
• Assist during medical procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and prevention.
• Observe and record patient conditions and report significant changes.
• Respond to emergencies and follow established emergency protocols.
• Conduct purposeful rounding to meet patient needs and prevent complications.
• Follow infection-control standards and participate in infection surveillance and reporting.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient items and equipment.

Administrative and Supportive Duties

• Maintain accurate patient care records, including observations, interventions, and responses.
• Communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Provide emotional support and advocate for patient needs and preferences.
• Participate in ongoing education and training.
• Respect cultural backgrounds and incorporate patient values into care planning.
• Oversee junior staff and nursing students and provide guidance.
• Identify patient-care challenges and contribute to solutions and practice improvements.
• Complete other duties assigned by the nursing manager within scope.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

• Support person-centered care values and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Follow safety protocols and address job-related safety concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Comply with cybersecurity policies and participate in awareness training.
• Follow the organization's code of conduct, policies, and ethical standards.
• Complete mandatory education before required expiration dates.

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and service-oriented skills.
• Ability to manage work pressure and work effectively in teams.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and typing.
• Clerical skills including agenda preparation, minute taking, and document scanning.

Experience and Education

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience.
• Staff with less than one year of experience may enter the RN residency program.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent.

Language and Licenses

• Excellent command of English; Arabic is a plus.
• License from the country of origin and license to practice from the applicable regional health regulatory authority, such as SCFHS or DHA.
• BLS, ACLS, and other applicable life-support training courses.
