Summary of the Role
- As an R&D Team Leader – Fire Protection, you will work closely with the R&D Manager to manage and further develop the Fire Protection product portfolio.
- You will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the technical capabilities of the chemist team.
- This position is based in Dubai, UAE, and reports to the Regional R&D Manager Protective & Flooring.
Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver larger projects, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and timely execution within agreed budgets.
- Take ownership of key Fire Protection products and projects, ensuring adherence to quality, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the R&D Manager to support the development and execution of the R&D strategy, including idea generation, trend analysis, and compliance with HSE regulations.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to support business growth by promoting Jotun’s technical solutions, testing capabilities, and product portfolio to customers.
- Drive competence development through knowledge sharing, innovation initiatives, and continuous improvement of tools and systems.
- Lead the team in line with Leadership Expectations and tools to develop, coach and guide its members.
- Ensure compliance with Jotun’s HSEQ requirements, maintaining accurate and up to date documentation of raw materials, formulations, and testing activities.
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s/Master's/PhD's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Master with minimum 10 years’ relevant experience OR Bachelor with a minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience OR PhD with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
