Job Summary

  • The Quantity Surveying Manager oversees building consulting services including reserve fund studies, service charge allocation, building condition audits, technical snagging, and asset management.
  • Requires strong leadership and project management skills, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and oversee reserve fund studies for long term financial planning.
  • Analyze and allocate service charges based on accurate cost assessments.
  • Lead building condition audits to assess structural integrity and mechanical systems.
  • Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversee technical snagging processes to identify construction defects.
  • Ensure proper tagging of assets for tracking and lifecycle management.
  • Manage a team of consultants, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Develop work plans, assign responsibilities, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and present findings.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth and contribute to service development.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct quality reviews of reports and deliverables.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Surveying, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • RICS qualified (MRICS/FRICS) or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in building consulting, property management, or construction auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of reserve fund studies, service charge allocation, and building assessment methodologies.
  • Experience in asset management, technical snagging, and lifecycle planning.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in technical reporting, data analysis, and project management.
  • LEED, BOMA, or other sustainability certifications are an advantage.
