Job Purpose

The Quality Specialist conducts mortality and morbidity reviews, focused reviews of practice and documentation, data collection and ownership, and performance improvement projects.

The role supports quality, safety, compliance, patient confidentiality, and continuous improvement across the applicable Fakeeh Health Care facility.

Clinical Reviews

  • Conduct detailed chart reviews for mortality and morbidity triggers according to applicable review policies.
  • Prepare agendas and minutes and present cases during Fakeeh Health Care facility mortality and morbidity committee meetings.

Documentation and Audits

  • Review EMR documentation and ensure proper documentation practices in compliance with clinical documentation policy.
  • Generate and analyze monthly audit reports, identify discrepancies and improvement areas, and communicate actionable findings to QRM, the CMO, and other organizational units.
  • Participate as an active member of selected committees.

Data, Privacy, and Compliance

  • Support validation of new KPIs and collect manually maintained KPIs from assigned end users.
  • Monitor the privacy and confidentiality of patient documents and information.
  • Support compliance with regulatory, governmental, and accreditation standards.

Performance Improvement and Training

  • Participate in projects focused on continuous quality and safety improvement.
  • Contribute to workshops on audit processes, documentation accuracy, patient safety, and the use of patient feedback.
  • Facilitate professional development on healthcare quality management and audit techniques.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Support person-centered care values and act as an advocate for patient safety.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and follow safety protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality, comply with cybersecurity policies, and participate in security awareness initiatives.
  • Uphold the organization’s code of conduct, policies, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of healthcare experience, including at least 3 years in a QRM department in a large healthcare facility.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field along with CPHQ certification is required.
  • A master’s or postgraduate degree in Quality Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English and Arabic.
  • Knowledge of improvement methods, data aggregation and analysis, and risk identification and management.
