The role is for an experienced Quantity Surveyor in Dubai, UAE.
The position manages commercial and contractual aspects of construction and contracting projects.
The role requires eight to ten years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience and mandatory construction or contracting experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements for commercial risks and opportunities.
- Conduct site measurements and verify completed-work quantities.
- Prepare monthly valuations and interim payment applications.
- Review and certify subcontractor and supplier payment applications.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare commercial comparisons.
- Manage variations, change orders, claims, and additional works.
- Prepare rate build-ups and substantiate variation and claim submissions.
- Monitor budgets, actual costs, commitments, and forecast final costs.
- Prepare cost and commercial reports for management.
- Coordinate with project, site, procurement, finance, planning, consultant, client, and subcontractor teams.
- Assist with contract administration, dispute resolution, negotiations, final accounts, and project close-out.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Eight to ten years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience.
- Mandatory experience with a construction or main contracting company.
- Strong pre-contract and post-contract Quantity Surveying experience.
- Proven experience with BOQs, quantity measurement, valuations, cost control, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
- FIDIC or similar standard construction contract experience is preferred.
- UAE or GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and methods of measurement.
- Advanced MS Excel and familiarity with QS or commercial software such as CostX or Candy.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple project stakeholders.
Work Location
- The role requires on-site work in Dubai and an in-person work location.
Pay
- The advertised pay is AED 14,000 to AED 15,000 per month.
